1. Why do you think you should win Prom Queen?

It would be fulfilling my destiny. I mean I’m 95% sure Prince Harry and I were supposed to get married so that I could be in the Royal family… but Meghan Markel came and now I have to be royal through my school.

2. Why are you running for prom queen?

I really wanted a shirt with my name on it next to the word “queen”.

3. What is your campaign slogan?

Born to be Royal.

4. What are you involved in on campus?

I participate in Cheerleading, Weightlifting, and NHS.

5. What is something you would like to say to your competition?

Hey, competition! You’re doing great! Your posters are all super cute!

Candidate: Anteon Rush

1. Why do you think you should win Prom Queen?

My whole high school career I have been supporting the school and I would love to represent it even more.

2. Why are you running for prom queen?

I am running to make memories and have a good time.

3. What is your campaign slogan?

A queen for queen.

4. What are you involved in on campus?

I’m in cheerleading, criminal justice, spirit squad and SGA.

Candidate: Brianna Whaley

1. Why do you think you should win Prom Queen?

I think I deserve to win prom queen because I love UHS so much and really have had the best four years of my life while attending school. I would love to forever be able to say I represented university high school as the 2018 prom queen. Also, I’m so excited to see my friend Christina again, who won last year. So, it would be a really awesome moment to be crowned by her.

2. Why are you running for prom queen?

I am running not just to represent myself but to represent all my friends. They really supported me and wanted me to run. I was nervous at first because I thought I didn’t have a chance but they have shown me it’s all about the experience and meeting new people along the way.

3. What is your campaign slogan?

King and queen bee, vote for Bryan and Bri.

4. What are you involved in on campus?

I’ve been involved with the softball team for 4 years now and was also a part of SGA sophomore year and asl club.

5. What is something you would like to say to your competition?

I would just like to say that I’m thankful that all the girls I’ve been competing against have been so nice and civil throughout the week. It’s nice to see everyone get along. I think each of us deserves to win

Candidate: Mariely Melendez

1. Why do you think you should win Prom Queen?

I feel that I’m very diverse in what I do and it’s out of the regular.

2. Why are you running for prom queen?

I’m just running because it is something that I wouldn’t have regularly done. I just wanted to try it since it is my senior year.

3. What is your campaign slogan?

Mariely for Queen.

4. What are you involved in on campus?

I’m involved in Latin dance and I played volleyball.

Candidate: Samantha Jones

1. Why do you think you should win Prom Queen?

I think I should win because I’m a positive person and I’m always looking for ways to make peoples day better. 

2. Why are you running for prom queen?

I’m running because I wanted to make my senior year big. I wanted to create memories to last a lifetime.

3. What is your campaign slogan?

I think my best prom slogan was ice cream you scream we all scream Sam for prom queen!

4. What are you involved in on campus?

I’m not involved in anything, I have a job and that takes up most of my time nowadays.

5. What is something you would like to say to your competition?

I would tell my competition that they all did amazing. It was awesome to see all the effort and creativity!! I wish them all the best of luck.

Candidate: Aaron Hedges

1. Why do you think you should win Prom king?

I think I should win because I speak for the underdogs of high school. The ones who aren’t really handsome, pretty or popular. 

2. Why are you running for prom king?

I’m running because I thought it would be a good experience even if I don’t win. It was fun campaigning and being a part of it along with the other candidates, David Blair, Anthony Pearsoll and Bryan Smith. 

3. What is your campaign slogan?

My best slogan is “ Vote AARON for PROM KING, it’s ?the right choice” (Stephen kings it). 

4. What are you involved in on campus?

I’m involved with the baseball team.

5. What is something you would like to say to your competition?

Something I’d like to say to my competitors is that they all did a great job. David, I’m proud of you for doing everything you did with a smile on your face. Bryan, you did a great job and it’s amazing you stayed positive. Anthony, you did a lot of hard work and didn’t let it stop you from doing your best. Everyone did an amazing job and I hope that whoever wins, understand the amount of honor and respect that they’ve gotten. Best of luck to you all.

1. Why do you think you should win Prom king?

I think I should win because I worked hard on campaigning.

2. Why are you running for prom king?

I’m just running to run honestly I’m just trying to have a memorable senior year

4. What are you involved in on campus?

I’m involved in Football track weightlifting.

1. Why do you think you should win Prom king?

I believe I should win prom king because I have genuinely enjoyed my high school career here as well as been a very positive person throughout and would love to end it off strong walking away with the crown

2. Why are you running for prom king?

I’m doing it for the boys.

3. What is your campaign slogan?

A vote for Bryan is a vote for the Boys!

I participated in track and field during my freshmen year

All of my competition I have known for years now. Aaron, Anthony, and David are all amazing people and honestly, we all deserve the title of prom king this year

1. Why do you think you should win Prom king?

I think I should win because I’m popular here at the school and everyone knows me here.

2. Why are you running for prom king?

I’m running because I feel like I should be prom king and I love the theme. I think I should be the beast.

Vote David for prom king.

4. What are you involved in on campus?

I’m involved in sports. I helped out baseball and football for four years. I’m just proud to be apart of sports management.
