In the midst of the presentations, freshman Madelyn Rachels takes her own peer review notes to see what the presenters did right and wrong. All the while listening to the information being given. “I think the presentations we did were really neat and you could learn about a bunch of different things in a short amount of time,” Rachels said. “You get all the basics and what qualifications you need and how you would pursue that particular career… Throughout the school year, research for college readiness has taught us how to not be nervous when you’re presenting and about how you can get into college easier. I hope to use what I’ve learned so far to go into pediatric intensive care and become a nurse. I don’t know why exactly, but it’s just really fun to help children and take care of them when they’re not at their best times.”

While waiting for his groups powerpoint to load, freshman Matthew Mucci grins at one of the silly comments hsi peers in the audience said. “Well at one point when you get up there to present, it’s a little nerve-wrecking,” Mucci said. “But once you start talking, it just starts flowing, and once you get the hang of it, you just feel more comfortable… My group and I were presenting four different types of engineering. The one I did was automotive engineering and we were talking about what they do, how much money they make, and a ton of other fun facts. It was definitely interesting working with my group. I’ve never worked with any of them before, so it was a new experience and I got to know my peers a lot better.”
