How to Mix & Match different ingredients:

If you can’t find a recipe for a smoothie that appeals to you just throw together using these 3 simple steps.

  1. Start with 1 cup of fruit and a banana.
  2. Add about a half cup of liquid.
  3. Add a teaspoon of nut butter or a sweeter for a sweeter taste if desired.

Tips for a good smoothie:

  1. Put the liquid in first at the bottom so your smoothie blends good.
  2. Don’t use too much liquid or it will turn out runny like juice.
  3. Freeze your fruits on a single layer cookie sheet covered in wax paper, then transfer the fruit into separate bags so they don’t stick together.
  4. Use frozen fruit in replacement of ice so it doesn’t get watered down.
  5. For a thicker smoothie try adding protein powder, yogurt, banana or avocado.
  6. Slice your fruits like pineapple, mango, strawberries, etc. into smaller pieces for an easier blend.
  7. Mix your vegetables first with the liquid so there aren’t green chunks in your smoothie.
  8. Don’t be afraid to try and mix up something new.

Tips for turning a simple smoothie into a trendy smoothie bowl:

  1. Prep your fruits and toppings before you blend the smoothie so it won’t melt.
  2. Chill your bowl in the freezer to keep it cooler when you eat your smoothie bowl. The longer it chills the longer your smoothie bowl will last.
  3. Use a deep bowl.
  4. Use a high-power blender so your smoothie doesn’t have chunks in it.
  5. Add texture by using a variety of toppings.
  6. Make your smoothie have a thicker consistency. This can be done by adding slightly less liquid, more frozen fruit and protein powder.
