Deltona – The Varsity football team played against Lyman High School’s Greyhounds for the annual homecoming game on September 27th on the Pine Ridge field.

Both teams tied 0-0, ending the first quarter.

Greyhounds scored the first touchdown of the game with a kick, making the score 0-7, with 9:42 left in the second quarter.

Greyhounds ran another touchdown but with a flag on the play, the touchdown still counted. The score became 0-14 with 4:51 left in the first half.

University scored their first touchdown bringing the score to 6-14.

“I felt like [after the first touchdown] we were starting to get something going, and we were just hoping we could keep it going” corner back Cole Leisure said.

Lyman scored another touchdown making the score 6-28 Greyhound lead.

Greyhounds scored again ending the third quarter 6-42.

A strong kick landed University another touchdown moving the score to 13-42 with 4:49 left in the game.

Lyman won the game with a final score of 13-42.
